The Activities of the 11th Medical Corps

The relief team members rested on the second floor of the building. It was here that they roused their own injured bodies and went out from early morning until late at night to treat the atomic bomb victims, whenever they were.

Dr.Takashi Nagai, leader of the 11th Medical Corps, began relief activities for the atomic bomb victims with assistants and nurses immediately after the bombing. After moving his relief station to Mitsuyama-machi,he continued to treat the victims until late at night despite his own serious injury. His efforts during this period can only be called selfless.Dr.Nagai's notes from the days in Mitsuyama-machi served as the basis for his "Report on Relief Activities after the atomic bombing".
